Sampling usually starts with a neutral sample kit for specification decisions, followed by a pre-production sample that matches the intended material, printing and packaging. Approve the physical sample and keep it as the production reference.
6. Request a Comparable Quote
To compare manufacturers meaningfully, ask every supplier for the same set of items: EXW and FOB pricing with the FOB port named, unit pricing at each volume tier, MOQ, sample cost and lead time, production lead time at each volume, printing or tooling charges, retail box and master carton dimensions and weights, units per carton, loading quantities, monthly capacity, certifications and test data, QC process and defect tolerance, payment terms, FNSKU and FBA label support, and shipping capability to Amazon fulfillment centers or a U.S. 3PL.
A quote that answers all of these in one pass is usually a reliable signal of an experienced export partner. Manufacturers who leave half of it for later are also the ones whose production timelines slip.
